CAPE TOWN – Mamelodi Sundowns produced the standout performance of the midweek Betway Premiership fixtures, cruising to a 5-2 victory over AmaZulu at Loftus Versfeld to strengthen their position at the top of the table.
In another entertaining encounter, Richards Bay and Kaizer Chiefs shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw at Princess Magogo Stadium. The result leaves Chiefs third on the log with eight points after four matches.
Golden Arrows claimed a narrow but valuable 1-0 victory over Stellenbosch at the King Goodwill Zwelithini Stadium, securing three points in a tightly contested encounter.
At Old Peter Mokaba Stadium, Polokwane City and Milford played to a goalless draw, with neither side able to find the breakthrough.
The results leave Sundowns sitting at the summit with 10 points after four matches, level on points with Orlando Pirates, who occupy second place – Chiefs are third on eight points.
With the early stages of the season producing tight contests and plenty of goals, the battle at the top of the Betway Premiership is already beginning to take shape.
