CAPE TOWN – In preparations for the new season, the Cape Winelands side Stellenbosch FC added an experienced goalkeeper to their books.
Former Baroka FC shot-stopper Oscarine Masuluke signed for Stellies on a permanent transfer, penning a long-term deal with the club.
The 30-year-old 2017 FIFA Puskas Award nominee brings wealth of experience to the Stellenbosch side that finished in sixth place in the DStv Premiership last season.
Commenting on the Masuluke signing, coach Steve Barker believes the club is open to competitiveness and depth in all positions.

“As a club, we always want to have competitiveness and depth in all of our positions, and adding Oscarine to our goalkeeping department provides that,” Barker said.
“I had a stint coaching him at the DStv Compact Cup last year and saw his qualities there, and that definitely played a part in the decision to bring him in.
“He’s a goalkeeper with massive experience, great quality, and good size. He’s good with his hands and feet, and he’s a good shot-stopper, so he’s been brought in to add that extra depth and quality.”
Stellenbosch is set to kickstart the new season at home with a tough test against Orlando Pirates during the first week of August.
