CAPE TOWN – Kaizer Chiefs have continued their preparations for the 2026/27 Betway Premiership season by strengthening their goalkeeping department with the signing of experienced shot-stopper Renaldo Leaner.
The 28-year-old Cape Town-born goalkeeper joins Amakhosi from Sekhukhune United, bringing valuable top-flight experience as Chiefs continue to reshape their squad ahead of the new campaign.

Leaner’s arrival is expected to increase competition between the posts as the Soweto giants look to improve on last season’s performances.
The former Sekhukhune United goalkeeper has built a reputation as a reliable and commanding presence between the sticks and will now be eager to make his mark in the famous black and gold jersey.
Meanwhile, rivals and league champions Orlando Pirates have begun trimming their squad following another successful campaign, confirming the departures of seven players as they prepare for the new season.
Defender Thabiso Sesane and midfielder Selaelo Rasebotja have both completed moves to Siwelele FC, while Siyabonga Ndlozi and Gomolemo Khoto have joined Sekhukhune United.
The Buccaneers also confirmed that Sonwabo Khumalo and Blessing Ngiba have signed for Midlands, with midfielder Seth Green completing a move to Durban City.
