CAPE TOWN – The Castle Lager Rugby Championship wrapped up with a thrilling win this past weekend in Mbombela for the Springboks.
As they were crowned as the Rugby Championship champions, another milestone was the celebration of Bok loosehead lock Eben Etzebeth after reaching 128 Springbok caps.
The 32-year-old surpassed Victor Matfield’s record and became the most capped Springbok player of all time.
As South Africa’s “Home Grown” beer brand, Castle Lager wanted to celebrate with Eben and gifted him with a variety of special items to help Etzebeth remember this momentous achievement.
South Africa won the tournament for the first time in five years when they beat Argentina 48-7 in Nelspruit.
