CAPE TOWN – Just a few days after leaving Mamelodi Sundowns in a surprise shock exit and having won the 2023/24 Premier Soccer League (PSL) Coach of the Year award, Rhulani Mokwena has resurfaced in Morocco.
The 37-year-old was on Thursday unveiled as new Wydad Athletic Club’s head coach.
Johannesburg born ended the speculation after his name was thrown in a few hats of different clubs ahead of the new season after departing Sundowns.
Mokwena, who landed in Casablanca on Thursday, met with the club management who later presented him to the media and public as the club’s new head coach.
“Welcome aboard, Coach Rhulani Mokwena! Ready to lead us to victory,” said the club in their social media posts.
Mokwena led Sundowns to four massive trophies, winning the DStv Premiership twice, the inaugural African Football League (AFL) and the Nedbank Cup.
