WATCH | Coach John Dobson and captain Salmaan Moerat after thrashing Leinster

The Stormers kept their United Rugby Championship (URC) playoff hopes alive as they thrashed eight time URC Champions Leinster at the DHL Stadium in Cape Town on Saturday evening.

After their shock loss at home to the Ospreys last week, the Stormers powered to a 42-12 win after leading 23-0 at half-time.

The win, in which the home side scored five tries to secure a bonus point, means that John Dobson’s charges kept their playoff hopes alive and moved to fifth in the URC standings.

Following a break this week, the Stormers will embark on a two-week mini-tour of the UK and Ireland, where they will take on Dragons in Newport and fellow playoff hunters Connacht in Galway.

Having returned winless from their four-match tour earlier this season, the Stormers will be hoping for better fortunes up north, but Dobson and Moerat is confident of turning around their away form.
