After beating the All Blacks in last week’s first leg in Dubai, the  Springboks Sevens Team lost the final 5-7 in the Cape Town Stadium on Sunday.

It was a closely contested affair in the first half with both sides failing to breach each other’s try lines. And with the score locked at 0-0 both sides had everything to play for.

The Blitzboks tasted first blood when Justin Geduld crossed over for the first five pointer after the break. He failed to convert. The however sealed victory with scored a converted try.

Neil Powell’s men failed to take their opportunities when it mattered most. After boasting impeccable stats by not losing one line out in the whole tournament, they lost two at critical times in the final. This is what inevitably cost them the game.
