Johannesburg – The second annual FNB Joburg 10K CITYRUN will boast an exciting #ForeverFaster PUMA ‘Beat Bolt’ on route competition that is guaranteed to yield impressive 100m sprint times on Sunday, 24 September 2017 (Heritage Day).
Following the PUMA Legends’ final competitive race at the current IAAF Athletics World Champs the ‘Beat Bolt’ activation allows for City Runners to experience the 100m dash as Bolt would do in a competitive setting and ultimately earn you bragging rights for being Forever Faster.
“PUMA’s ‘Beat Bolt’ competition was the source of much excitement at the FNB Cape Town 12 ONERUN earlier this year,” says Brett Bellinger, Marketing Director of PUMA South Africa. “We can’t wait to share this excitement with Joburg runners. The competition is a fun way to generate additional hype on route while encouraging both runner and spectator interaction. Being a ‘Beat Bolt’ competition, speed is a prerequisite. The activation will be a #ForeverFaster 100m sprint that will be timed. The runner (male and female) to clock the fastest time over 100m will take home a PUMA shopping voucher to the value of R10 000. We’d like to challenge all FNB Joburg 10K CITYRUN entrants to #BeatBolt on Heritage Day.”
PUMA’s ‘Beat Bolt’ activation will be in the region of the 8,6km mark in Ameshoff Street. A commentator will be stationed +-50m ahead of the activation to motivate runners to make this the fastest 100m of their lives. All runners will be notified of their 100m sprint times via sms after the race.

About the FNB Joburg 10K CITYRUN sponsorship:
FNB Business is proud to be the title sponsor of the FNB Joburg 10K CITYRUN. This sponsorship forms part of our ongoing strategy to support local and community events that focus on a healthy lifestyle and family involvement. Road running is an inclusive sport that allows us to engage with a larger audience and support a sporting disciplines that advance our commitment to building, enduring and rewarding relationships with communities we are a part of.
We believe in supporting a race that encourages people to run and know their city; a race that strives to re-invent how people perceive and experience the city centre. The FNB Bank City buildings are well-known and iconic buildings in the Johannesburg CBD and the precinct was recently revamped in 2015 with three lifestyle concepts of Work, Eat & Play in mind. For many years it has been viewed as traditional banking headquarters; however the revamp has positively changed the experience of the precinct.
Sponsoring the FNB Joburg 10K CITYRUN is aligned to our belief in the importance of rejuvenating and reviving the city centre so it remains relevant and an important part of Johannesburg’s Heritage.
