CAPE TOWN – The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup will make its highly anticipated return to Africa after 24 years, with the tournament set to be hosted across three countries.
Cricket fans around the world can take their first step towards experiencing the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027 in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia, with the ticket ballot opening on 1 October 2026.
The ballot gives fans a fair opportunity to access tickets for the 14th edition of the sport’s most anticipated tournament.
Entry is free and tickets will not be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. All valid entries submitted between 1 October and 21 November 2026 will be given equal consideration, regardless of when they are entered during the ballot period.
The ballot opens alongside the official match schedule announcement for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027, at the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (Zeitz MOCAA) in Cape Town.
Representatives of the International Cricket Council (ICC), the Local Organising Committee (LOC), the three host nations and the wider cricket community will mark the occasion and celebrate the Men’s Cricket World Cup’s return to African soil for the first time in 23 years.
This edition will feature 14 teams competing across 12 venues and 57 matches for cricket’s most prestigious prize.
How the ballot works: Fans may enter for as many matches as they wish, with each match treated as a separate entry. They can request up to four tickets per match and select their preferred ticket category at the same time. Where demand for a match exceeds the tickets available, a randomised ballot process will determine which valid entrants are eligible to purchase.
Entry requires no payment. Successful entrants will be contacted by email and given a defined window to purchase the tickets made available to them. Where a match is not oversubscribed, registered fans will receive access to purchase tickets, with any remaining inventory potentially released in later sales phases. Entering the ballot does not guarantee tickets.
