BELHAR – Day two of the annual Bayhill Premier Cup Easter Tournament delivered another exciting round of fixtures at Erica Park Stadium in Belhar on Thursday, following the tournament’s opening day on 1 April.
The early matches kicked off at 12h30, with University of Pretoria making a strong statement in Group A after a convincing 4-0 win over Hungry Lions In Group B, Premier United edged Aberdeen SC 2-1 in a tightly contested clash, while Bolobathaba United and Stanturf United played out a goalless draw in Group C.
At 13h45, Maties FC continued their impressive run with a solid 2-0 victory against Jacaranda Callies. Stars of Africa Academy secured a narrow 1-0 win over Windhoek Gymnasium, while Randburg AFC claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Chippa United.
The 15h00 fixtures brought even more drama, as Stellenbosch held off Virginia Football Academy for a 2-1 win. Everton edged Houtbay United by the same scoreline, while Eagles Performance Academy secured a 2-1 victory over Rygersdal. Hosts Bayhill United were held to a thrilling 2-2 draw by Antalyspor in one of the standout matches of the day.
In the evening fixtures, Cape Town Spurs dominated with a commanding 3-0 win over Elite Pro Tanzania. Ubuntu Football Academy claimed a 2-1 victory against Shayamoya Academy, while Jomo’s Power FC delivered the biggest win of the day, thrashing Two for Joy FC 5-1. Vasco da Gama and Cape Town City played to a goalless draw, while Mamelodi Sundowns rounded off the day with a strong 3-1 win over SAFA Cape Town Academy.
With momentum building, the tournament continues to showcase top young talent and highly competitive football.
