Boxer Super Run ready to sprint into Joburg debut

Johannesburg is about to lace up for a brand-new burst of colour and community spirit as the Boxer Super Run makes its City of Gold debut on Sunday, 9 November 2025, at the iconic Marks Park Sports Club.

Entries open this Friday, 26 September and, judging by Durban’s sell-out dash, they’ll fly faster than a sprinter chasing the finish tape.

Touted as South Africa’s most social 5km, the event promises a festival of fun on the run: from sunrise joggers chasing personal bests to tutu-clad crews turning the streets into a moving carnival.

Like a relay baton, the excitement will be passed through every wave. Whether you’re an early bird, a charity runner, or one of the elite athletes gunning for glory.

“We’re excited to see the Boxer Super Run make its Johannesburg debut in 2025,” says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports.

“A new venue brings a new route and fresh experiences for everyone. Marks Park Sports Club has hosted countless fantastic sporting events, and we’re excited to bring the Boxer Super Run here for the first time.

“It promises not only exhilarating 5km racing but also a fun-filled day for runners, their families, friends, and colleagues.”

Echoing Michael’s enthusiasm, Lee-Ann Pillay, Head of Marketing at Boxer Superstores, highlights how the new venue promises an exciting and memorable experience for all participants.

“It’s all about energy, fun, and community,” says Pillay.

“Everyone is part of the action, whether you’re running, walking, or cheering from the sidelines.”

With a fresh Joburg route, a buzzing finish village, and goodies ranging from finisher’s medals to performance tees, the Boxer Super Run looks set to deliver a high-octane mix of sweat, smiles, and celebration.

So whether you’re chasing the clock or just chasing laughs with friends, Joburg’s streets are calling. Don’t get left at the starting line.
