CAPE TOWN – Stellenbosch FC has announced that South Africa U-20 international Faiz Abrahams and Vuyolwethu Andrieas have graduated from the club’s Diski programme to sign a professional contract with the club.
Abrahams hailing from Valhalla Park, Cape Town, made his senior debut for the Cape Winelands side against Kaizer Chiefs in February this year.
The 20-year-old was one of the standout players during the club’s 2024-25 DStv Diski Challenge campaign, recording 11 goals and six assists for the season.
Andrieas, a central midfielder, joined Stellenbosch FC’s reserve team programme in 2022 and helped the club win the DStv Diski Challenge and Premier League Next Generation Cup titles last year.
“First of all, I want to thank the Almighty God for giving me this opportunity,” said the 20-year-old.
“I’ve always said that I’m willing to give everything for the badge, and I can’t wait to do that on this next chapter of my journey.
“I’ve been in the setup for a while, and that has given me a lot of strength. Training with the first-team players has motivated me to keep working hard to ensure I’m ready to take my opportunity with both hands when it comes.”
Abrahams was also recently part of the South Africa U-20 squad that won the CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt and was crowned Stellenbosch FC’s reserve team Footballer of the Season at the club’s annual awards ceremony.
“I’m excited for the future at Stellenbosch FC,” Abrahams said.
“This is one of the best clubs to be at in terms of developing and promoting young players and giving them the chance to showcase their talents.
“My goal is to play more regularly in the first team next season, and I can’t wait for the new campaign to get underway.”
