CAPE TOWN – Former Orlando Pirates defender Deano van Rooyen has joined Mamelodi Sundowns, becoming the latest player to become part of the team this season.
The defender now begins a new chapter with the Tshwane giants, bringing his experience, defensive qualities and determination to the squad.
Van Rooyen’s arrival adds further depth to Sundowns’ defensive options as the club prepares for another demanding campaign across domestic and continental competitions.
Last month Pirates announced van Rooyen will be leaving the club, after the player and the club agreed to part ways by mutual consent.
The decision follows open conversations between Deano and the Club, with both sides agreeing that the time is right for him to begin a new chapter in his career.
