adidas and Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 shift into top gear for 2026 teamwear

South Africa, 2 February 2026 – Like a perfectly paced marathon that ends in a blistering sprint finish, adidas and the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team have unveiled their 2026 teamwear collection.

It’s a range engineered to endure the long race calendar while delivering explosive performance when it matters most.

Now entering the second lap of their partnership, adidas and Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS continue to fuse two high-performance worlds: the relentless rhythm of elite sport and the precision timing of Formula One.

Maintaining the visual DNA of last season’s debut drop, the new collection sharpens its lines with fresh design codes drawn from Mercedes’ iconic colours, shapes and values.

This latest release spans apparel, footwear and accessories, crafted for every role in the team ecosystem from drivers and engineers to mechanics and travelling staff.

It also giving fans gear worthy of race day rituals. Think of it as a pit crew wardrobe built with the stamina of a long-distance runner and the aerodynamics of a championship-winning car.

Simplicity and comfort set the pace, but style never drops off the slipstream. Each piece is tailored with purpose, optimising fit and function like a finely tuned race setup.

Advanced fabrics and cutting-edge technologies run through polos, jackets, jerseys and tracksuits, ensuring the kit performs through pressure-filled race moments – whether under paddock lights or grandstand sun.

Key highlights from the collection

Driver wear:
The authentic driver jerseys are the pole position pieces. Featuring an all-over shiny engineered print inspired by the team’s symbol of unity and cohesion, they blend a style-first aesthetic with serious technical credentials. Accents of classic PETRONAS teal cut through the design, while adidas’ CLIMACOOL technology keeps drivers cool and dry off-track – light, breathable and built for long days in the paddock.

Mechanics:
Short- and long-sleeve options deliver a modern silhouette, punctuated by a curved teal graphic that suggests motion and speed. Designed like a runner’s race vest, the look is clean, fast and focused on peak performance during high-pressure pit stops.

Engineers:
Black replaces white as the primary base colour, establishing a unified visual identity across the team. Logos and detailing glow against darker tones, while advanced materials deliver a refined balance of elegance, comfort and performance – precision engineering you can wear.

The collection is rounded off with standout footwear, led by a reimagined Ultraboost 5. Its teal heel fades into a black mid and forefoot, finished with glossy silver Three Stripes. It’s a shoe that looks ready to clock kilometres or pace the pit lane. Caps in Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS colours complete a race-day-ready lineup.

Michael Batz, Motorsport Category GM at adidas, said: “As we gear up for the second year of our partnership, we have continued to pour a lot of thought and craft into designing pieces that meet the demands of every single member of the team.

“It’s rooted in our commitment to support all to reaching peak performance. Through different cuts, fabrics and design codes, we have considered individual needs whilst still celebrating the Mercedes team’s identity. We can’t wait to see it being worn by all during the upcoming season!”

Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team Chief Commercial Officer Richard Sanders added:

“Our partnership with adidas is built on a shared commitment to performance, innovation, and style. Our second teamwear collection reflects those values perfectly yet again – delivering apparel that not only meets the technical demands of F1 but also embodies the identity of our team.”

Drivers feel the difference too. George Russell said: “In this new adidas teamwear collection they’ve really put our team’s performance at the forefront of its design… This kit allows me to stay sharp, focused, and perform at my peak.”

Rising star Kimi Antonelli echoed that sentiment: “As I look forward to taking a significant step up in my second season in F1, their commitment to optimising fit and function means I can step out onto the track feeling confident and ready to focus entirely on my performance.”

The adidas x Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team 2026 collection is available at adidas.co.za/motorsport and selected adidas retailers worldwide.
