CAPE TOWN – Tanzanian giants Simba S.C. have announced the appointment of former Stellenbosch FC coach Steve Barker as their new head coach.
Barker, who brings a wealth of coaching experience from the Premier Soccer League (PSL), was revealed by Tanzanian Premier League side on Friday.
The 57-year-old joined the Cape Winelands outfit in 2017, where he enjoyed a successful spell that culminated in a major trophy triumph, lifting the Carling Knockout Cup last season after defeating TS Galaxy in a penalty shootout.
Over the past two campaigns, Barker also guided Stellies to back-to-back MTN8 finals, although they narrowly missed out on the title on both occasions, losing to Orlando Pirates.
