Orlando Pirates advance to Carling Knockout semi-finals after win over Magesi

CAPE TOWN – Orlando Pirates booked their spot in the Carling Knockout semi-finals after a commanding performance saw them defeat Magesi FC on Tuesday evening.

The Buccaneers showed their experience and composure throughout the match, capitalising on key moments to secure a well-deserved victory.

Goals from Tshepang Moremi and Evidence Makgopa were enough for the Soweto giants to secure their place in the Carling Knockout semi-finals.

Meanwhile John Mokone netted a consolation goal for Magesi, it wasn’t enough to spark a comeback as the Limpopo-based side bowed out of the competition.

Despite their efforts, Pirates’ quality and experience proved too strong on the night, earning them a well-deserved spot in the Carling Knockout semi-finals.

Abdeslam Ouaddou’s charges showed great composure and attacking intent, breaking down a resilient Magesi defence to seal a comfortable victory.

The result keeps their hopes of adding another silverwear alive as they continue their impressive cup form this season.

Wednesday’s fixtures will see Marumo Gallants welcome Stellenbosch FC to the Dr Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein, as both sides look to secure a place in the Carling Knockout semi-finals.
