CAPE TOWN – Motsepe Foundation Championship side Cape Town City have announced the appointment of a new head coach ahead of the upcoming season.
The Citizens, who have been without a permanent coach since parting ways with Eric Tinkler in December, have now turned to a Dutchman to lead the team.
Former De Graafschap coach Jan Vreman will take charge of the Cape-based outfit as they embark on a new era in the second division.
“We want to play attractive football. Football that wins us games and earns the respect of fans and everyone that watches us,” said Vreman.
“We want to fill the stands and give people a reason to show up and believe in us.
“Yes, of course we have a good team. It’s been a difficult year but these are quality players , and we will do everything to get this club where it belongs.”
Vreman follows in the footsteps of fellow Dutchmen who previously led the Cape Town-based side, including the likes of Jan Olde Riekerink and Andries Ulderink, among others.
