In a celebration of rhythm, resilience, and radiant womanhood, the Totalsports Women’s Race is lacing up for a show-stopping spectacle in 2025 — and at the heart of this multicoloured marathon of strength and song stands none other than South Africa’s soul-soaked diva, Lady Zamar.
This is year’s event can be seen as pulsating parade of pounding feet and throbbing hearts — sweeping through Durban, Cape Town, and Johannesburg like a ribbon of purpose fluttering in the wind.
And this year, for the first time ever, one voice will echo through all three cities, turning kilometres into chorus lines and finish lines into stages of celebration.
“The Totalsports Women’s Race is a great initiative for Women’s Month,” says Lady Zamar.
“These events promote wellness and mental strength through exercise, and the fact that they take place in multiple cities makes them truly special.”
With every beat of her heart and note from her lips, Lady Zamar brings more than music. She brings meaning. Her lyrics are balm for the soul, her voice a compass for the journey — reminding every runner that the real race is not just on the road, but within.

“As a woman who stands with and supports other women, I feel deeply honoured to be part of such a prestigious celebration,” she says.
“My music has helped me make sense of life and navigate relationships. Sharing those insights through my performances is a privilege I don’t take for granted.”
The Totalsports Women’s Race isn’t simply about PBs or podiums. It’s about unity — runners of all ages, shapes, and paces converging like tributaries into a mighty river of sisterhood.
It’s about stepping out, not to outrun others, but to outshine yesterday’s version of yourself. Each runner, whether they walk, jog or sprint, becomes a flame in a wildfire of hope — and Lady Zamar is the torchbearer.
“I can’t wait to meet the thousands of women in each city – and, of course, to dress up,” she laughs.
“Totalsports Women’s Race entrants and supporters can expect pitch-perfect vocals and an energetic, heartfelt performance. I always bring great energy to the stage, and performing for women makes it even more meaningful.”
Behind the glitter and melodies lies a gritty message — this race is in aid of PinkDrive, the non-profit powerhouse bringing free breast cancer screenings and awareness to underserved communities. Each step is a stride towards healing, each heartbeat a reminder of the women we run for: survivors, fighters, and those we’ve loved and lost.
“It takes determination and endurance to run and care for your health,” Lady Zamar reflects.
“Your example inspires other women facing life’s challenges. You encourage them to keep moving forward, no matter what. You are a true inspiration.”
A Symphony of Cities
This triple-city celebration kicks off in Durban on Sunday, 3 August 2025, rolls into Cape Town on Women’s Day, Saturday 9 August, and crescendos in Johannesburg on Sunday, 17 August.
With thousands expected to take to the streets, each event is a city-wide exhale of empowerment — part parade, part pilgrimage.
“We are excited to welcome Lady Zamar to the 2025 Totalsports Women’s Race,” says Nikki Crous, Head of Marketing at Totalsports.
“Her music, energy and powerful presence are truly inspiring. For the first time since the race’s inception, one artist will perform at all three events – a special way for us to unify the experience across Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg.”
And for the speedsters chasing more than just good vibes, there’s a blazing carrot dangling at the Durban start line: a R1 million incentive for the first woman to break the Women’s Only 10km World Record. It’s a bold statement that women’s sport is not just worthy — it’s world class.
PinkDrive: The Beating Heart Behind the Race
At its core, the Totalsports Women’s Race runs not for medals, but for meaning. PinkDrive’s mobile units and community outreach programmes provide life-saving education and screenings, turning early detection into a tangible reality. By stepping out, participants help others step into a future with hope.
In 2025, the Totalsports Women’s Race is more than a run. It’s a harmony of healing, a chorus of courage, and a standing ovation for the strength of South African women. And with Lady Zamar singing the soundtrack of the season, every runner becomes a note in a triumphant anthem.
So lace up, dress bright, and show up — not just for the race, but for each other.
