CAPE TOWN – Stellenbosch FC have bolstered their squad by signing two new youngsters ahead of the 2024/25 DStv Premiership season.
Over the weekend, the Cape Winelands based side added a 20-year-old Omega Mdaka to their squad on a long-term deal.
On Monday, Stellies announced that an agreement has been reached with Richards Bay for the transfer of Sanele Barns.
The 27 -year-old Barns has signed a long-term contract in Stellenbosch and joins the club on the back of an impressive domestic season in which he recorded six goals and seven assists in 35 appearances, and helped Richards Bay retain their top-flight status.
While Mdaka has signed his first professional contract in the Cape Winelands.
“We are excited to welcome a player of Omega’s potential to the Club,” said Stellenbosch FC Chief Executive Officer, Rob Benadie.
“Barns was one of the standout performers in the league last season and we are excited to add a player of his calibre and experience to our squad, especially as we embark on our first-ever campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup.
“We are looking forward to him making a big impact at the Club and have no doubt that he will contribute massively towards our continued success.”
