CAPE TOWN – As today marks 100 days before the start of the Netball World Cup 2023 in Cape Town and the host city believes it has done all in its power to make sure the event will be a success.
The tournament will be hosted at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) from 28 July – 6 August 2023 with 16 of the world’s top netball nations, including the hosts South Africa, competing.
The City of Cape Town was the organizer for the event in the Mother City and has also unveiled its last mural before the first match kick off, the ninth one – just outside the CTICC building.
The City mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis believes the city has done more so far to make sure the event will be a success.
“We are pulling all the stops in making sure this event goes smoothly without any glitches, we want to make sure that this is a brilliant tournament the world has ever seen,” said Hill-Lewis.
“We are going to witness a magnificent opening ceremony. And today we announced that the same area that we are standing at right now will be the fan park.
“A lot will be happening here, exhibition matches, things to excite fans, it’s going to be busy.”
