Stillwater Sports wins Participation Event of the Year Award at Hollard Sport Industry Awards

Stillwater Sports is proud to have been awarded the “2019 Participation Event of the Year Award” for the FNB Run Your City Series, at the recently held Hollard Sport Industry Awards that took place at the Wanderers Club in Johannesburg on Friday 22 November.
This award comes five years after Stillwater Sports, one of South Africa’s leading sports marketing agencies, conceptualized and produced the first event in the series, in what has become a phenomenon on the South African sporting landscape.
According to Michael Meyer, founder of the series and Managing Director of Stillwater Sports, receiving the award is a humbling experience.

“When we created the first event with its huge focus on innovation in road running, it was a true challenge. But within five years, the series is a tremendous success for our sponsors, and we continue to focus on the superb experience that each and every entrant has when entering our events.”

As a mass participation road race series, the FNB Run Your City Series consists of four events that take runners on a memorable journey through the streets of its host city, highlighting iconic landmarks while featuring lively performances by leading performing arts groups. Each event also features an “elite racing” element with local and international star athletes vying for their share in an impressive prize purse.
In 2019 the FNB Run Your City Series boasted close to 40 000 runners in the series which includes the:
